Moment of Truth: Cardamom Ale

Drinking Cardamom Ale

I had the day off today and decided to treat myself to one of my home brews for lunch. Honestly, I was not expecting much because I had already tasted this one last week when I accidentally put a bottle in the fridge a week early. Last week this was a pretty thin beer with little carbonation and frankly very bland flavor. I could not taste any of the Cardamom and even made a note in my log-book to add more Cardamom next time.

What a difference a week makes. This is one fine little brew. It has a good head of carbonation, just the right amount of bitterness and the cardamom definitely comes it at the end, but not in an overpowering way.

I am very satisfied but I think next time I will add one or 2 more Cardamom pods and maybe a little more honey when I bottle.

All in all I am very satisfied. I know what I’ll be drinking for Thanksgiving tomorrow.
